The COVID-19 Pandemic presented many unique challenges for professionals in nearly every industry, but none were harder hit than those in the nightlife community. With artists, musicians, bartenders, DJs, and numerous other creatives left without income or opportunities to support themselves and their families, Jägermeister took the initiative to Save The Night and support these communities, and we were tasked with bringing various elements of this admirable campaign to life in the social space.
Even in the toughest times, creatives and denizens of the night take pride in their work and would always strive to keep creating and inspiring to earn their living, rather than simply looking for handouts or charity. As such, Jägermeister global set out to support and fund Nightlife initiatives around the world that would give these creatives a chance to keep working and supporting their hustle, whilst creating exciting content and engagement opportunities for their fans and their Jägermeister social communities.
Two innovative, globally-driven funding initiatives were conceived, starting with “Meister Drop-Ins”, which allowed fans to virtually book their favourite nightlife personality to ‘drop in’ to a virtual party on their chosen video calling platform, with Jägermeister covering the costs of the artist booking. Next, a series of microfunding campaigns saw Jägermeister paying creatives to bring their own projects proposals to life, producing exciting, original content for fans to enjoy. One Over One was directly involved and predominantly responsible for every aspect of these initiatives, from planning, to promotion and execution, across every digital touchpoint, resulting in a wildly successful local market launch. Furthermore, our success in SA lead the client to entrust us with rolling out the Meister Drop-Ins element to Kenya, too.
